Word Insights from Genesis by G. David Karunakar

  • God made light to divide darkness. (Genesis 1:3, 4). Unless we ABIDE in the Word, we can not DIVIDE ourselves from the World. Many times we try to divide from the world but we fail because we don’t have Word in us. When Light comes, darkness has to go away. When the Word of God which is lamp unto our feet and light unto our path comes into us, then the darkness of this world goes away from us. (John 12:46, Psalms 119:105)

  • The World says, Beauty is to see and enjoy but not to touch. The Word says, you can not see the beauty of this world because if you see it you will touch it and take it. This is what exactly happened in the Garden of Eden, when eve looked at the Good and Evil Tree; it was pleasant to her eyes so she touched them and ate them. (Genesis 3:6) Let us pray the prayer of David: Lord, enable my eyes to turn from beholding vanity. (Psalm 119:37) Lord, help not to set any wicket thing before mine eyes. (Psalm 101:3)

  • Leaves are not washable; they are just to use and throw. Coats of skins are washable. Man made remedy for sin is temporal and not washable. When Adam and eve committed sin, they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. (Genesis 3:7) God made remedy for sin is eternal and washable. “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.” (Genesis 3:21) We need to have the washing experiences in the blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Rev 7:14, 2 Corinthians 7:1)

  • It is husband’s responsibility to guard his wife. Husbands don’t blame your wives and wives don’t blame your weaknesses. When God asked why you committed sin, Adam blamed Eve and Eve blamed Serpent. Yes, because of serpent Eve committed sin and yes because of Eve, Adam committed sin but when God put Adam in the Garden of Eden, he asked him to keep (GUARD) it (Gen 2:15) that means God foretold Adam that Serpent is going to enter into this garden to deceive Eve.

  • I personally believe it is Adam’s fault because he allowed serpent to enter into the garden and it is Eve’s fault to talk to the serpent in the absences of Adam’s presences. Peter compares wives as a weaker vessel (1 Peter 3:7). They were not staying together so Satan took advantage. Husbands - don’t ever allow third person in your relationship with your wife. Wives - don’t ever talk to any third person in the absence of your husband. A family that prays together stays together.

  • Thorns are grown on this earth because of Adam’s sin (Genesis 3:18). Thorns hinder seed to grow. If you allow thorns to grow in your heart, they make you to care of this world, and have deceitfulness of riches. This will choke the Word, and become unfruitful. (Matthew 13:22). In other words, if you continue to sin, you will never allow Word of God to grow in you heart and be fruitful. Fruit comes only when seed grows. Keeping Word of God in our hearts helps us not to sin (Psalms 119:11) and the same Word of God grows in us when we don’t sin.

  • God does not want us to live in sin for ever, so He hindered Man to eat of the Tree of life (Gen 3:24). God wants us to be over comers of sin, so, He hands out to eat of the Tree of life to him that overcomes. (Rev 2:7) We need sinless Christ to overcome sin. Sin can never ever overcome sin.

  • Abel was a KEEPER of sheep, but Cain was a TILLER of the ground. (Gen 4:2) We need to be KEEPERS of God’s commandments but not TILLERS (breakers) of God’s commandments. “And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.” (1 John 4:22)

  • Because Cain hated his brother Abel, he said to God, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” We need to love our brother to be keepers of God’s commandments. Jesus said, If ye love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15) And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. (1 John 4:21)

  • God gave Seth to Adam and Eve instead of Abel who was murdered for the life that was pleasing to God. (Gen 4:26) When we lose something for God’s sake, He will provide us back with a much more blessing. The Genealogy of Jesus comes from Seth son of Adam. (Luke 3:38) Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting. (Luke 18:29,30)

  • Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. (Gen 5:23) Enoch lived 365 years on this earth. (Gen 5:23). Everyday, all 365 days in a calendar year we should live for our God. To Live for God, we need to live in Him, through Him and by Him and this experience only comes when we walk according to His Word. “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7)

  • The 3 things that Noah had to be saved from the Flood are essential in our lives to be saved from the lake of Fire.

(I)Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.(Gen 6:8) We need to be saved and justified by grace through faith. (Eph 2:8, Rom 5:1)

(II)Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God (Gen 6:9) We need to walk with God to be perfect as our Heavenly Father. (Mat 5:48)

(III)Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him. (Gen 7:5) We need to do according unto all that the Lord commanded us. (Mat 7:21, 28:20)

  • The Raven that was sent by Noah resembles Worldly Person. Raven did not return to the ark because it likes and enjoys eating the dead bodies. (Gen 8:7) The Dove that was sent by Noah resembles Wordly Person. Dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark. (Gen 8:8,9) A Worldly person can not enjoy being in the presence of God and a Wordly person can not enjoy the worldly things. “… Know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” (James 4:4)

  • Ham was blessed by God along with his father Noah and his brothers. (Gen 9:1) Ham saw the nakedness of his father. (Gen 9:22) In other words, he saw that he should not have seen and because of this his son Canaan was cursed. (Gen 9:25) God always wanted to bless us along with our families but because of watching things that we should not watch or porn we ourselves gets the opposite of it. Lord, enable my eyes to turn from beholding vanity. (Psalm 119:37)

  • For their name sake they don’t want to be scattered so they decided to build a city and a tower. (Gen 11:4) For God’s name sake, He wants them to be scattered so they could not build the city. (Gen 11:8) “Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.” (Psa 115:1) “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Cor 10:31)

  • God told Abram to get away from his kindred. (Gen 12:1) Abram knew it is not God’s will to take Lot with him. (Gen 12:1) but because Lot came with him (Gen 12:4) Abram took him (Gen 12:5). God himself intervenes in this and amazingly separated Abram and Lot (Gen 13:7-9)

  • God always wants us to be separated from this world. In the Beginning, He separated Light from the Darkness (Gen 1:4) and in the end He will separate Good from the Bad. (Matt 25:32) Everyday let us allow Holy Spirit to intervene in our lives to separate us from the things that we should be separated.

  • Lot chose the land of Sodom and Gomorrah because when he looked at it, it looked to him like the Garden of the LORD (Word) and Land of Egypt (World) (Gen 13:10) Lot represents lukewarm Christians. Lukewarm Christians wants both Word and World and ends ups in world. Lord, enable my eyes ever to be towards you. (Psalm 25:15, 141:8, 123:1)

  • In Old Testament Abram was given Bread and Wine by Melchizedek king of Salem after he got victory against his enemies. (Genesis 14:18-20) In New Testament, we are given Bread (Body) and Wine (Blood) of Jesus Christ to get victory against sin. With out Body there is no Blood and with out Blood there is no remission and with out remission there is no victory against sin. “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” (Matt 26:26-28)

  • Abram did not take a thread even to a shoelatchet from King of Sodom and he did not take anything that is his because Abram knew that it is God that made him rich and he does not want King of Sodom to say “I have made Abram Rich” (Gen 14:22,23). Let us not take anything from Satan and nothing that is his and be bold to resist the offers of Satan as our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Matthew 4:1-11) “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.” (Proverbs 10:22)

  • Abram knew “the fruit of the womb is God’s REWARD” and that is why when God said to Abram in a vision, Fear not, I am thy shield, and THY EXCEEDING GREAT REWARD, he replied “what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?” (Genesis 15:1, 2) Let us know and always remember “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. (Psalm 127:3) and give thanks to God for our children.”

  • God makes us to BELIEVE to RECEIVE (Mark 11:24) God made Abram to believe Him, soHe brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. (Gen 15:5,6)

  • Hagar was sent back to Sarai by the angle of God until Isaac was born (Gen 16:9) and Hagar and Ishmael were sent out by Abraham and Sarah after Isaac was born (Gen 21:10). We can not cast out Worldly things in our life unless we are begot by God with the Word of Truth. (James 1:18)

  • In Old Testament, God changed the name of Abram into Abraham and Sarai into Sarah to believe in His Promise to have promised son Isaac. (Gen 17:5, 15). In New Testament, God sent His promised Son Jesus Christ to change our hearts to believe in His Gospel to have Salvation. “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)

  • It is interesting that God asked Abraham to be circumcised at the age of 99 before Sarah became pregnant. Does circumcision helped Sarah to become pregnant? Absolutely Not, “Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed.” (Heb 11:11) In New Testament Apostle Paul compares circumcision as baptism. (Col 2:11-12) Does Baptism save a person? Absolutely Not, but we take baptism to obey and publicly witness and our Lord through whom we are saved. (Matthew 28:19)

  • Abraham had Butter, Milk and Calf to offer unto the Lord. (Gen 18:8) I wanted to compare Butter as Soul, Milk as Spirit and Calf as Body. We need to have experience of offering these three unto our Lord. With out Father there is no Mother, and without mother there is no Calf and without Calf there is no Milk and without Milk there is no Butter. Our Heavenly Father begat us with the Word of Truth. (James 1:18) Without offering our Body we can not offer our Spirit and without offering our Spirit we can not offer our Soul unto God.

  • If you ALTER the Word of God, you will be a FAULTER and you will make others DEFAULTERS. God said Lot to “look not behind thee, escape to the mountain” (Gen 19:17) But Lot said to God, “I cannot escape to the mountain” (Gen 19:19) and he went to live in Zoar (Gen 19:23). In this journey, Lot wife looked back and became pillar of salt. (Gen 19:26) and Lot could not live in Zoar so he finally wanted to go back to the mountain where God asked him to go but it was too late so now here his both daughters slept with him and sinned against God. (Gen 19:30-38)

  • Don’t Look Back, if you look back, your back will be your front and your front will be your back. Lot’s wife looked back and became pillar of salt. (Gen 19:19) Jesus asked us to “Remember Lot's wife.” (Luke 17:32) Because “No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:62)

  • Abraham’s RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with God STOPPED Abimelech’s WRONG RELATIONSHIP with Sarah. (Gen 20:6) Right relationship with God stops wrong relationships in our lives. (Psalms 119:128)

  • Pray for OTHERS to receive solution for the issue that BOTHERS you. Before God healed Sarah’s Womb to bare child, God made Abraham to pray for the family of Abimelech. When Abraham prayed unto God: God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children (Gen 20:17-18, 21:1-2) Apostle Paul writes to Timothy to pray for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. (1 Tim 2:1-3) Lord, I pray for the salvation of all men, kings and for all that are in authority.

  • “The Lord VISITED Sarah as he had SAID, and the Lord DID unto Sarah as he had SPOKEN” (Gen 21:1). Are we VISITING God everyday by reading His Word as we have SAID and are we DOING prayer everyday as we have SPOKEN? “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” (1 John 3:18)

  • When God said that Sarah will bare a child, she laughed within herself and lied to keep her laugh secret. (Gen 18:12) When Sarah conceived and bore a child, God made her to laugh publicly and all that hears will laugh with her that she may not lie. (Gen 21:6)

  • Hagar lifted up her voice and wept. (Gen 21:16) but it is very interesting that God heard the voice of the lad. (Gen 21:17). JESUS LOVES LITTLE CHILDREN and He said, we need to be converted and become as little children to enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Matt 18:3)

  • There was a well of water available in the wilderness of Beersheba but Hagar could not see it until God opened her eyes. (Gen 21:19) God opened her eyes because he heard the voice of the lad. (Gen 21:17). There is salvation available in this world but people are not able to receive it because Satan hath blinded their minds. (2 Cor 4:4). God opened many minds because he heard the voice of many little children (Believers). May we, the little children continue to pray for perishing souls so that God may open many minds to receive the salvation that is available only in Him.

  • Because of Abraham’s love towards Sarah, he sacrificed his son Ishmael. (Gen 21:14) Because of Abraham’s love towards God, he sacrificed his son Isaac. (Heb 11:17) Love is Sacrificial. What are we sacrificing for our love towards our family and God???

  • You can not love God without loving your wife/husband. Abraham is tested of his love towards his wife Sarah (Gen 21:10) before he was tested of his love towards God. (Gen 22:1) To love God, you need to keep His commandments. (John 14:15) His commandment to Husband is to love his wife even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it. (Eph 5:25) and His commandment to wife is to submit herself unto her husband, as unto the Lord (Eph 5:22)

  • Abraham OFFERED his only son (Gen 22:2, 12). God OFFERED his only Son (John 3:16). Let us OFFER the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. (Heb 13:15)

  • Isaac CARRIED the wood for the sacrifice (Gen 22:5). Jesus CARRIED the cross for the sacrifice (John 19:17). Let us to CARRY our cross daily to follow Jesus. (Luke 9:23) Cross is something that you wanted to do but God does not want you to do and something you don’t want to do but God wants you to do. That is why we need to deny ourselves to CARRY CROSS.

  • You need to GO YONDER in your spiritual life to SEE WONDER in your physical life. Abraham and Isaac went YONDER for worship and saw WONDER on Mountain. (Gen 22:5,13)

  • You need to speak out the WORDS OF FAITH to see out the WORKS OF FAITH. Abraham had NO LAMB but yet by FAITH, he said to Isaac that God himself will provide a LAMB for a burnt offering. (Gen 22:8) God Provided Ram, a male sheep for burnt offering. (Gen 22:13)

  • Abraham had NO BIBLE but yet by FAITH he knew God’s heart and laid the WOOD IN ORDER to offer his son Isaac as burnt offering (Gen 22:9). Many years later God said to Moses that “the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the WOOD IN ORDER upon the fire:” (Lev 1:7) Knowing the Word of God, empowers us to live a life according to His Word in all times.

  • Blessings poured out when Abraham proved his Fear of the Lord by not withholding his son that was asked by God to offer burnt offering. (Gen 22:16-18) Blessings will be poured out when we prove our Fear of the Lord by not withholding our money that was asked by God to offer Tithe. (Malachi 3:10) Please give your Tithe to your church.

  • READING the Bible makes you HEAR the voice of God. HEARING the voice of God makes you to OBEY His voice. OBEYING His voice makes you BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING. Because Abraham obeyed God’s voice, he was not only blessed but in his seed (which is Christ Gal 3:16) all the nations of the earth are blessed. (Gen 22:18)

  • Abraham WENT to do what God has kept IN FRONT of him, a ram that is needed was SENT by God from his BEHIND. (Gen 22:13) When you go FORWARD to do what Bible WANT you to do, God sends what you NEED from BACKWARD.

  • Ram was caught behind him in a thicket by his horns not to overtake Abraham. (Gen 22:13) Let your physical needs be always behind your spiritual needs because our physical needs should not over take our spiritual needs

  • It is amazing that when Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, he was able to see a ram which is behind him. (Gen 22:13) When you see by yourself, you cannot look to God but when you look to God, you can see which you can not see by yourself.

  • Through the life of Sarah God gave Abraham the promised son Isaac. (Gen 17:19) Through the death of Sarah God gave Abraham the Promised Land Canaan. (Gen 23:20) May God use the life and death of your spouse to be a channel of fulfillment of His promises in your life.

  • Abraham’s Love for God made him to leave his father’s property in Haran. (Gen 12:4) Abraham’s Love for Sarah made him to buy stranger’s property in Canaan. (Gen 23:16) May we continue to Love our God and our spouse not only with words but in deeds.

  • The Lord had blessed Abraham in all things. (Gen 24:1) God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in Christ to give Him thanks always for all things in Christ. (Eph 1:3, 5:20)

  • Abraham elected a Spiritual Man as his eldest servant of his house to rule over all that he had (Gen 24:2). A Spiritual Man always depends on God in whatever he does and wherever he goes. (Gen 24:12-15) Our house and all that we have has to be ruled by a Spiritual Man in order to see God’s hand in our family.

  • Spiritual Man Abraham ELECTED

Spiritual Women his servant SELECTED

Spiritual House God PERFECTED

May the Lord perfect us as we elect and select spirituality. (Matt 5:48)

  • Rebecca understood that if Abraham’s servant that traveled on camels needed water how much more do the camels that drove Abraham’s servant needed water so she gave water to all of them. (Gen 24:17-19) To pray more for our spiritual needs we need to understand that when we needed prayers for our body (Physical Needs) how much more does our spirit (Spiritual Needs) that make our body live needed prayers.

  • I would like to compare that Rebecca was given a golden earring of HALF A SHEKEL weight for giving water to Abraham’s servant (ONE) and two bracelets of TEN SHEKELS weight of gold for giving water to TEN camels. (Gen 24:22) I believe we are more blessed for the prayers that we do for our spiritual needs than for the physical needs.

  • Abraham became GREAT because God blessed him GREATLY (Gen 24:35). Before God blessed Abraham GREATLY, He made Abraham to believe that He is his shield and his exceeding GREAT reward. (Gen 15:1) We become GREAT by believing the GREATNESS of our GREAT GOD. “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath GREAT recompense of reward.” (Heb 10:35)

  • We should have a commitment to eat spiritual food for our spirit before we eat physical food for our body. Abraham’s servant did not eat meat that was set before him until he told his errand. (Gen 24:33) Job esteemed the Word of God more than his necessary food. (Job 23:12)

  • To get COMFORT from your wife, you should make an EFFORT to love her. Isaac was comforted by Rebecca after his mother’s death because he loved her. (Gen 24:67)

  • Don’t ILL TREAT your wife for her weakness but INTREAT the Lord for your wife. “And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived” (Gen 25:21)

  • When your children struggle, go to the Lord in Prayer. “And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And Rebekah went to enquire of the LORD.” (Gen 25:22)

  • Plainness won over Cunningness. Hardness lost to Softness. “Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.” (Gen 25:27)

  • Waiting on others faints your strength but Waiting on the Lord renews your strength. Esau waited for hunting and became faint. (Gen 25:29)

  • If you are FAINT in your walk with God, you will TAINT your blessings from God. Faintness made Esau to sell what he should have saved. (Gen 25:33)

  • Don’t loose your Heavenly Blessings for the Earthly Things. Esau lost his birthright for bread and pottage of lentils. (Gen 25:34)

  • It is not God’s will for us to get help from the World but from the Word. Help from the Word not only sustain our present family in the famine but also it helps our future family to obtain the promises of God. God told Isaac not to go to Egypt for the present family but to the place that He tells for the future family. (Gen 26:1-4)

  • We see our present with our past but God sees our present with our future. Isaac saw present family in famine and thought to go to the Egypt (World) but God saw future family and taught Isaac to go to the Place that HE will show (Word). (Gen 26:1-4)

  • To receive a hundredfold blessing from the Lord, we need to sow the Gospel in the lives of the people. “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.” (Gen 26:12)

  • If you are going through a valley, don’t try to come out of it but dig there and you will find what God wants to give you. “And Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water” (Genesis 26:19)

  • Don’t stop digging in a valley even if you don’t understand because digging in a valley also helps others to understand who you are and how great is your God. Isaac herdsmen continued to dig third well even the two wells that were dogged by them were taken away by herdsmen of Gerar. This helped Abimelech and his men to saw that certainly the LORD was with Isaac. (Gen 26:19-28)

  • Let the people that sent you away with hatred be departed in peace when they come to you. Isaac sent away Abimelech and his men and they departed from him in peace. (Gen 26:26-31)

  • HALLOW the Word through your life and don’t ALLOW the world in your life so that devil may not SWALLOW your life. Esau could not Hallow God and this allowed the worldly people in his life and that allowed devil to swallow his life. (Gen 26:33-35)

  • Relationship with World (Ungodly people) brings Grief of Mind but Relationship with Word (Jesus) brings Peace of Mind. Esau’s relationship with Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, gave a grief of mind unto Isaac and Rebekah. (Genesis 26:34, 35)

  • You can not see World with one Eye and Word with other eye. The left eye can only see what the right eye sees. Seeing the things that you should not see prevents you to see the things that you should see. Hittites are descendants of Heth (Gen 10:15), who saw the nakedness of his father Noah and are cursed (Gen 9:22). Hittites represents the world and worldly people always see the things that they should not see.

  • If you don’t communicate with Word of God and try to do what God spoke to you through other means like visions and voices, you will always fail to complete the task because only the Word of God helps you to do what God asks you to do. Esau failed to communicate with his mother Rebekah about the savoury meat that his father Isaac wanted and tried to do on his own. Only Rebekah knows how to make a savoury meat for her husband Isaac such as he loveth. (Gen 27:4-7)

  • Wives, stay near to your husbands that you could hear what your husbands talk with others to fulfill God’s Will.  If Rebekah had not heard what Isaac spoke to Esau she had not told Jacob, if Jacob had not did as his mother Rebekah told him, he had not received the blessings of his brother Esau. (Gen 27:5-8)

  • Don’t ever remove your garment of salvation that God hath clothed you with because if you remove it, you can not carry it on your own and you may loose it. (Isaiah 61:10) Esau left his goodly raiment in his mother’s house and his mother Rebekah took that and put on Jacob. (Gen 27:15). The smell of Esau’s raiment made Isaac to bless Jacob (Gen 27:27).

  • If you don’t cry for repentance, you will not receive blessings even if you cry for them. Esau lifted up his voice and wept for blessing but could not receive (Gen 27:34-38) because he did not repent for selling his birthright blessing for bread and pottage of lentils. (Gen 25:34). What are you crying for???

  • Weariness comes from World but Goodness comes from God. Rebekah was weary of her life because of the daughters of Heth (World) (Gen 27:46). Isaac and Rebekah understood that Goodness only comes from God and not from World so they sent Jacob away where later Jacob encountered God and His goodness in this journey. (Gen 28:1-5)

  • You can not obey God before you obey your parents in the Lord. “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.” (Eph 6:1) “And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padanaram;” (Gen 28:7)

  • You can not please God by just knowing what is not pleasing to Him. You should know both what is pleasing and not pleasing to Him. Esau could only know that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father, so he went and married Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraha’s son, the sister of Nebajoth. (Gen 28:8, 9)

  • The experience of obeying to your parents in the Lord helps you to experience the obedient life to the Lord. The experience of obeying to his parents helped Jacob to obey God. The experience of disobeying his parents made Esau to disobey God. (Gen 28:1-22)

  • Make use of the things that God has already put around you to experience God using you to bless the people around you. Jacob made use of the stones of that place and put them for his pillows and lay down in that place to sleep. In his sleep he dreamed and saw in his seed God blessing all families of the earth. (Gen 28:11-14)

  • The Ladder that Jacob saw in his dream (Gen 28:12) resembles Jesus Christ (John 1:51). This Ladder is the only source for God to reach out to Earth and Man to reach in to heaven.

  • The angels of God ASCENDING on Jesus Christ resembles angels taking our praises and prayers UP and the angels of God DESCENDING on Jesus Christ resembles angels bringing DOWN the God’s blessings on us (Gen 28:12). Only through Jesus, our Praises and Prayers are sent up and Blessings are sent down. There is no other way. (Heb 13:15, John 14:6, 13)

  • God will not leave us until He fulfills what He has promised to us because when God fulfills what He has promised to us we will not leave Him. “… For I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.” (Gen 28:15)

  • You need sleep to get dream but you need to get up early in the morning from your sleep to turn your dream into reality. “And Jacob rose up early in the morning …” (Gen 28:18)

  • Don’t turn back to go backwards, but turn the things in front of you, to go forward. Jacob turned stone into pillows and pillows into pillar to go forward in his journey. (Gen 28:18)

  • Faith brings to us what we need but works takes us to where we can find what we need. Rebecca was brought to Isaac’s place (Gen 24:61-64) but Jacob went to Rachel’s place (Gen 29:1).

  • Grace gives us what God wants from us but Law asks us what God wants from us. Abraham’s servant and his camels were given water by Rebecca (Gen 24:17-19) but Jacob gave water to Rachel and her sheep. (Gen 29:10)

  • Before you taste and see the Lord personally, you can just hear about God from others but after you taste and see the Lord, others will see God in you. Before Jacob saw Rachel he heard that until all the flocks be gathered together and till they roll the stone from the well's mouth; sheep can not be watered but After Jacob saw Rachel he himself went and rolled the stone from the well’s month and watered the flock of Laban his mother’s brother. (Gen 29:7-10)

  • Unless you love His WORD you can not serve God. Jacob loved Rachel so he served Laban for fourteen years. (Gen 29:18,28)

  • I would like to compare Leah as a Spiritual Blessing and Rachel as a Physical Blessing. Physical Blessing is always attractive than the Spiritual Blessing so we strive for it. Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favored and Jacob love Rachel. (Gen 29:17, 18)

  • It is God’s will to bless us spiritually before He blesses us physically. Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn. (Gen 29:26)

  • Rejecting Spiritual Blessing for Physical Blessing may result in loosing both. Jacob did not divorce Leah to marry Rachel. He understood Laban’s mindset that he had to marry Leah to marry Rachel. (Gen 29:29, 30)

  • You need haters because your haters will help you to get what you couldn’t get on your own. “And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.” (Gen 29:31)

  • God can change AFFLICTION into AFFECTION. “And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the LORD hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.” (Gen 29:32)

  • Remember you are loved by God when you are hated by others but you can not love God when you hate others. “And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD hath heard I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.” (Gen 29:33, 1 John 4:20)

  • God can join any broken thing so nothing is waste. “And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.” (Gen 29:34)

  • God makes us to praise Him so we offer our praises to Him. “And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the LORD: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.” (Gen 29:35)

  • When you envy someone, you will fight with the one that loves you. “And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.” (Gen 30:1)

  • Fruit of the womb is by God through your spouse. “And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God's stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?” (Gen 30:2)

  • It is God that CLOSES and OPENS the Womb. “God closed all the wombs of the house of Abimelech” (Gen 20:18) “God opened Rachel’s womb. (Gen 30:22)

  • God remembered Rachel and gave her children from her blood. (Gen 30:22)

God remembered Noah and saved his children from the flood.  (Gen 8:1)

Let us remember God in our lives so that God may remember our lives.

  • Sin is a reproach to any people. (Pro 14:34) Reproach breaks your heart. (Psalms 69:20) Only God can take away your reproach. (Gen 30:23)

  • Faith comes by hearing the Word of God and Faith grows by understating the Word of God. Rachel grew in faith when she understood that it is God that opened her womb and nothing can close it again so she named her son Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son. (Gen 30:24)

  • When the Lord opens that is closed by him, with that you can open what you have closed by your own. When the Lord opened the closed womb of Rachel, Joseph was born. When Joseph was born, Jacob opened the closed door to go back to his own place. (Gen 30:25)

  • Not only God bless us for our own sake but also others for our sake. “Laban have learned by experience that the Lord hath blessed him for Jacob’s sake. (Gen 30:27)

  • What you see will impact that you deliver so if you see that you should not see; you will do what you should not do. “And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted.” (Gen 30:39)

  • Don’t FIGHT with your wife’s RELATIVES to have RIGHT RELATION with your wife. When Jacob heard that his Brother in Laws saying Jacob hath taken away all that was their father’s and saw that his Father in Law Laban was not toward him as before, he shared this with his wives and left the place. (Genesis 31:1, 2)

  • Wait until the Lord INTERVENES in CONTRAVENES. Thou Laban changed Jacob’s wages ten times yet he served fourteen years for his two daughters and six years for his cattle and waited and stayed in that land until the Lord asked him to return unto the land of his fathers. (Genesis 31:3-7)

  • The Lord makes you to see what He is going to do for you because He saw what is being done to you. “And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I. And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.” (Genesis 31:11, 12)

  • People may HUNT you but they cannot HURT you. “And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled. And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days' journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead. And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.” (Genesis 31:22-24, 29)

  • Devil wants us to make EMPTY but God wants us to give PLENTY. “Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty.” (Genesis 31:42)

  • Because the Lord has seen your affliction, He was seen by your afflicter to REBUKE him not to NUKE you. “God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.” (Genesis 31:42)

  • We should set up Christ the stone as a Pillar in our lives not to cross the Borders of the Bible. “And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar. And Laban said to Jacob, hold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee: This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm. The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac. (Genesis 31:45, 51-53)

  • Your relatives may turn to be your revengers and come to curse your children but God will turn them to bless your children before they return. “And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned unto his place.” (Genesis 31:55)

  • God’s ways always leads you to reconcile with your brothers and sisters. “And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. And Jacob said when he saw them, This is God's host: and he called the name of that place Mahanaim. And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother unto the land of Seir, the field of Edom.” (Genesis 32:3)

  • When you are afraid and distressed do not return but turn to God. When Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed he did not return to Laban’s place but he found place to pray to God. (Genesis 32:9-13)

  • For God to be your Deliverer, you must be His Believer. Jacob believed God that only he can be delivered by God from the hand of his brother Esau. (Genesis 32:11)

  • For God to do Good to you, you should do no bad to others. God said to Jacob that He will do good to him but before that God wanted Jacob to do good to his brother Esau to whom he did bad in the past. (Genesis 32:12-21)

  • Get closer to God when you are left alone. When Jacob was left alone, he got closer to God. (Genesis 32:24, 25)

  • The blessing of the Lord is not JUST having all what we need but MUST having what God needs from us – Fellowship with Him. Jacob had everything that he needed but yet he asked God to bless him to have want God needs from him - Fellowship with Him. (Genesis 32:26)

  • A blessed Man leans on God not on his own understating. When Jacob asked God to bless him, he made him to limp to lean on Him not on his own understanding. (Genesis 32:26-32)

  • To stop struggling within yourself start reconciling with others. Jacob has to struggle all his life until he reconciled with his brother Esau. (Gen 33)

  • Children are graciously given to us by God. Jacob said to Esau that God has graciously given him Children. (Gen 33:5)

  • Don’t even go out to see the DEFILED WORLD because it will DEFILE you but stay in the WORD because it will WARD you. Dinah the daughter of Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land and when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her. (Gen 34:1,2) The Hivites were a nation that descended from Canaan, son of Ham, son of Noah that defiled himself by seeing the nakedness of his father. (Gen 10:17)

  • If your soul cleaves unto World, it will end your life but if your soul cleaves unto Word, it will extend your life. Shechem the son of Hamar soul clave unto Dinah and that ended his life. (Gen 34:3) and King Hezekiah clave unto God that extend his life for fifteen more years. (2 Kings 18:6, 20:6)

  • Who is in your heart? King David delighted in God because he kept the Word of God in his heart (Psalms 40:8) Shechem Hamor’s son kept delighted in Jacob’s daughter because he kept her in his heart. (Gen 34:19)

  • Delight in the Lord to do according to His Word because you will defer not to do the thing in which you delight. Shechem Hamor’s son deferred not to do the thing because he had delight in Jacob’s daughter. (Gen 34:19)

  • Delight in Worldly Things Destroys you but Delight in the Word gives Desires of your heart. Shechem Hamor’s son delighted in Jacob’s daughter and that destroyed him (Gen 34:19) Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart (Psa 37:4.)

  • If you defile someone, it will spoil everyone. Shechem Hamor’s son defiled Dinah, daughter of Jacob and that spoiled the entire city. (Gen 34:27)

  • Make an ALTAR for your SHELTER. God wants Jacob to make an Altar (Praise) for Him, who has been his Shelter (Helper). (Gen 35:1)

  • Put AWAY the strange gods that you wanted, to worship True God in the WAY that He wanted. “Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:”(Gen 35:2)

  • No HOLINESS without CLEANLINESS. The Word of God cleans you (John 15:3) to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness (Psa 96:9). Jacob asked his family to be clean and change their garments to build an altar unto God. (Gen 35:2)

  • If you are dirty, your clothes are also dirty, if your clothes are dirty; you continue to sit in dirty places. You must be cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ (1 John 1:7) to wear the garment of Salvation to Worship Holy God according to His Holy Word (John 4:24). “Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:” (Gen 35:2)

  • Arise and go to your prayer room (Bethel) everyday morning to Read His Word and Pray according to His Word (Altar). Jacob and his family arose and went to Bethel to make an Altar unto God. (Gen 35:3)

  • God is our FORTRESS even in our DISTRESS (Psalms 18:2) “And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.” (Gen 35:3)

  • Unless you put down the Worldly things, you can not set up Spiritual things. Jacob hides strange gods (Gen 35:4) before he sets up pillar for God (Gen 35:14) and buries Rachel (Gen 35:19) before he set a pillar upon her grave (Gen 37:20)

  • It is not that we are not pursued by others because we made them terrified but it is because God’s terror was upon them that they did not pursue us. “And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.” (Gen 35:5)

  • No matter how good biblical name we may have, our hearts must be changed by the Word of God to receive His blessings. When Jacob’s heart was changed, God blessed him and changed his name from Jacob to Israel. (Gen 35:9-12)

  • We need to build our prayer life (PILLAR) not only by pouring our heart (WATER) but by Praying according to the Word of God (OIL). “And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon” (Gen 35:14)

  • When we are CLOSE with God for His FELLOWSHIP, He puts FAR our unnecessary RELATIONSHIPS from us. God made Esau to go away from the face of his brother Jacob (Gen 36:6, 7) and Lot from Abraham. (Gen 13:5-12)

  • It doesn’t matter, if you are a servant or a son, when you obey, you will discover BLESSINGS. (Col 3:22, Eph 6:5, 1 Peter 2:18, Col 3:20, Eph 6:1) Isaac's servants dug in the valley and discovered a well of fresh water there (Gen 26:19 NIV) Anah discovered the hot springs in the desert while he was grazing the donkeys of his father Zibeon. (Gen 36:24 NIV)

  • If you are a GOOD child of God, it is your responsibility to pray for the EVIL children. Joseph brought unto his father their evil report. (Gen 37:2)

  • Remember, when you are LOVED by God, you are HATED by Devil. When Joseph brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him. (Gen 37:4)

  • Jesus said, you are blessed when you are hated by the World for the sake of the Word. (Luke 6:22) Joseph was blessed because he was hated by his brothers for the sake of coat of many colors. (Gen 37:4)

  • You can not hate someone and speak peaceably with them. Joseph brothers hated him and could not speak peaceably unto him. (Gen 37:4)

  • When you don’t stop hating someone, you will continue to hate them more. And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. (Gen 37:5)

  • God can HELP you through the people that HATE you. Joseph brethren that hated helped him in interpreting his dream. (Gen 37:5-7)

  • You are hated for you are loved by God and hated yet the more for your dreams and for your words. Joseph brethern hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words. (Gen 37:8)

  • DREAMS represent our fellowship with God. WORDS represent our fellowship with Godly people. You can not show your dreams to others but you can tell them. You can not just tell words but you should show them in deeds.

  • Nothing should stop you from dreaming and telling your dreams. Joseph continues to dream and tell it even after his brothers hated him for his first dream. (Gen 37:9) Dreaming represents EVANGELISM and telling your dreams represents SHARING GOSPEL

  • Share your dream with your lovers and haters. Joseph shared his dream with both his father that loved him and his brothers that hated him. (Gen 37:9, 10) Sharing Dream represents SHARING GOSPEL

  • The beauty of sharing your dreams to all is sometimes your lovers may not understand but your haters will understand your dream. Joseph father Israel rebuked him and his brothers envied him for his dream. (Gen 37:10, 11) Sharing Dream represents SHARING GOSPEL

  • Every child of God should be ready to GO OUT TO SPELL OUT the GOSPEL. Joseph was ready to GO OUT to his brothers to obey his father Israel. (Gen 37:13,14)

  • You may NOT find OUT for what you went OUT but God has kept some one OUT there for you to seek OUT. Joseph could not find OUT his brothers for whom he went OUT but OUT there was a man to help him to seek OUT his brothers. (Gen 37:15, 16, 17)

  • God has already created a CERTAIN man to help you, CERTAIN place to meet you, CERTAIN situation to TRAIN you for your dreams to come pass. A CERTAIN man helped Joseph to go to a CERTAIN place to have CERTAIN TRAINING. Gen 37:15, 16, 17)

  • Devil sees you from afar off to slay you but God sees you from a great way off to hug and kiss you. (Luke 15:20) Joseph brothers saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him. (Gen 37:18)

  • You should be known for what you are FOR not by what you are named PER. Joseph brothers said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh. (Gen 37:19)

  • Devil wants to cast you in pit (Gen 37:20) but God wants to bring you up out of pit and set your feet upon a rock – the Word (Psalms 40:2)

  • We all need water. Devil gives water in pit which is not good for our health (Psalms 40:2) but God gives Water from Rock which is Good for your health. (1 Cor 10:4) Water represents Joy; the joy that you get from this world kills your spiritual life but the joy that you get out of His word strengths your spiritual life.

  • Devil is a Evil Beast that devours us (1 Peter 5:8) but God is a Good Shepherd that delivers us. (1 Sam 17:37) Devil tried to devour Joseph but God delivered him. (Gen 37:20)

  • Devil wants to see our dreams pass away but God wants to see our dreams come into pass. Joseph brothers tried to pass away his dreams but God brought them into pass. (Gen 37:20)

  • Devil may try to kill you because of your dreams but because of your dreams God will not allow Devil to kill you. Joseph brothers tried to kill him for his dreams but because of His dreams Joseph could not be slay. (Gen 37:21)

  • God can use your enemy to save you from your enemies. God used Ruben to save Joseph from the hands of his brothers. (Gen 37:21, 22)

  • The very FIRST THING that devil takes OFF from you is the garment of the Salvation (Joy of Salvation) that God has put ON. Joseph brothers stripped him of his coat, his coat of many colors that was on him. (Isaiah 61:10, Gen 37:23)

  • Devil wants us to see that we are unclothed so he made Eve to eat from the tree of Good and Evil (Gen 3:6,7) but God wants us see that we are clothed (Isaiah 61:10) so He made Jesus to drink from the cup of God’s Wrath (Mat 26:39)

  • Miracle out of Mess – God brought Ishmeelites in the right time to the right place for the right people to bring Joseph out of the Pit into Palace. (Gen 37:28, 29) God turned Abraham Mess into Miracle when he obeyed God and listened to his wife Sarah and sent out Ishmael. (Gen 21:8-12)

  • Devil used blood of Goat to hide our sin but God used blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) to cleanse our sins. Joseph brothers were able to hide their sins because of killing a goat and dipping his coat in the blood. (Gen 37:31)

  • Devil can make you to believe a LIE but God made truth to be known before you DIE. Joseph brothers killed a goat and dipped his coat in the blood to make his father believe that the evil beast has devoured his son (Gen 37:31-33) but God made truth “Joseph is alive” to be known before his father died. (Gen 45:28)

  • If you dip your brother’s coat in the blood on this earth (Gen 37:31), there will be no one in heaven to dip the tip of his finger in water to cool your tongue. (Luke 16:24)

  • Sin may give you PROFIT but not BENEFIT. Word of God gives you PROFIT AND BENEFIT. Joseph brothers sold him for twenty pieces of silver to get PROFIT out of sin. (Gen 37:26-28) but when we sell ourselves to the Word we get PROFIT & BENEFIT as “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Tim 3:16, 17)

  • Joseph was SOLD to Ishmeelites but Potiphar BOUGHT him that made him to the minister of Egypt.(Gen 37:28, 36) We are SOLD to sin but Jesus BOUGHT us that made us to be His ministers. (Rom 7:14, 1 Cor 6:20, 2 Cor 6:4)

  • We sold ourselves to sin for LESS PRICE but Christ Himself bought us for PRICELESS. (1 Cor 6:20, Acts 20:28)

  • The entry of Joseph into Egypt brought his Father Israel Tears of Sorrow (Gen 37:35). But his Father Israel’s entry into Egypt brought Joseph Tears of Joy (Gen 46:29). Entrance of a son into Christianity may bring Tears of Sorrow to Hindu/Muslim father but the same father’s entrance into Christianity brings him Tears of Joy. (Acts 16:34)

  • Is God with you in your prosperity? IF God is not with you in your prosperity, that prosperity may not be safe for you and your family but God was with Joseph in his prosperity so it was safe for him and his family. (Gen 39:2)

  • If God is with you in your prosperity, others will see that God is with you. Joseph master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. (Gen 39:3)

  • If you allow your Heavenly Master to oversee you and your house, He will make you to oversee your earthly master house. “ And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all [that] he had he put into his hand.” (Gen 39:3)

  • DELIGHT in the LIGHT (Word) to prosper in whatever you do (Psalm 1:2). The Lord prospered Joseph in whatever he did. (Gen 39:3)

  • Don’t stretch your hands to people for money. Let people see what God is doing through your hands then they will put money in your hands. Because Joseph’s master saw that the Lord prospered in all that he put his hands to, he put everything in Joseph’s hands. (Gen 39:4,5)

  • Don’t FORSAKE God for your personal BLESSING, if you don’t FORSAKE God, not only He will BLESS you but also He will BLESS others for your SAKE. The Lord blessed the Egyptian’s House for Joseph’s sake. (Gen 39:5)

  • You are blessed to be a blessing. God blessed Joseph and he became blessing to others. (Gen 39:5, 6)

  • You have to be a GODLY person to be a GOODLY person. Joseph was a goodly person and well favored. (Gen 39:6)

  • God’s favor on you brings human favor to you but human favor to you can not bring God’s favor on you. God’s favor on Joseph brought human favor to him. (Gen 39:6, Luke 2:52)

  • Sin of LIE makes to LIE with sin. Joseph had no problem of LIE so he did not LIE with his master’s wife. (Gen 39:7, 12)

  • USE God’s Word to REFUSE sin. Joseph refused to lie with his master’s wife because he knew it is great wickedness and sin against God. (Gen 39:8, 9)

  • If you LEAVE anything for the sake of God, He will GIVE you better things for your sake. Joseph left his servant garment for the sake of God but God gave him new garments for his sake to meet Pharaoh. (Gen 39:13, 41:14, Matthew 19:29)

  • FLEE from Sin to be FREE from Sin. (1 Cor 6:18,) Joseph FLED from Sin to be FREED from SIN. (Gen 39:12)

  • Devil may use what you have left for God to kill you but God uses the same not only to save you but to save many people. Joseph master’s wife used his left out garment to kill him but God used same garment to save Joseph and all people in Egypt. (Gen 39:13-20)

  • Husbands and wives stay TOGETHER to stay away from blaming EACH OTHER. Adam and his wife were not TOGETHER so he blamed his wife. Potiphar and his wife were not TOGETHER so his wife blamed her husband. (Gen 3:12, 39:14, 17)

  • You may be in PRISON for wrong REASON but God will use that SEASON to teach you a LESSON. Joseph was in PRISON for wrong REASON but God taught him a LESSON that He is with him even in PRISON. (Gen 39:20, 21)

  • The FLAVOR of God being with you is that He gives you FAVOR in the sight of your BOSS. “But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison” (Gen 39:21)

  • If you COMMIT your WAYS to God, God will ALWAYS COMMIT His WORK to you. The keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; (Gen 39:22)

  • If God is with us, we will prosper in all things that we do. To God to be with us, we should do those things that are pleasing to Him. (Gen 39:23, John 8:29)

  • The butler and the baker of the King of Egypt that OFFENDED their Lord had ENDED in Prison. (Gen 40:1-3) If you OFFEND the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings, you will END in Hell. (Rev 20:10-15)

  • God brings someone IN to make a way for you to go OUT. The butler and the baker of the king of Egypt were put IN the prison and that made a way for Joseph to go OUT of the prison. (Gen 40:1-3, 41:9-14)

  • There is a REASON for SEASON. Joseph had to continue a SEASON in Prison for a REASON to interpret the dreams of the butler and the baker of the King of Egypt. (Gen 40:4, 12, 18)

  • Your dreams need INTERPRETATION to avoid INTERRUPTION. The butler and the baker of the King of Egypt were sad because there is no interpreter to their dreams but Joseph interpreted their dreams. (Gen 40:8)

  • If your dreams are from God, the Word of God INTERPRETS your dreams, if your dreams are from Devil, the Word of God INTERRUPTS your dreams. (Gen 40:9-15, Eccl 5:3, Jeremiah 23:32)

  • Your GOODNESS throws SADNESS from you. The GOODNESS of the chief butler threw the SADNESS from him, when he was restored to his butlership. (Gen 40:21)

  • Your BADNESS brings SADNESS to you. The BADNESS of the chief baker brought SADNESS to him, when he was hanged. (Gen 40:22)

  • You need God’s KINDNESS to have Human KINDNESS. Joseph requested butlers KINDNESS to mention about him to Pharaoh when he gets back his job. But it was God’s KINDNESS towards Joseph made a way for butler to show his KINDNESS towards Joseph When Pharaoh had dream. (Gen 40:14, 41:9-14)

  • Your spirit will be troubled until you will find Spirit of God. Pharaoh’s spirit was troubled until he found Joseph, a man in whom the Spirit of God is. (Gen 41:8, 38)

  • IF you set the Lord over all your life, He will set you over all your enemies. Joseph set the Lord over his life and God set him over all the land of Egypt. (Gen 41:41)

  • If you FOLLOW the RULES of the Bible, the Bible ALLOWS you to be the RULER. Joseph followed the RULES of God so he became RULER over all the land of Egypt (Gen 41:43, Rev 2:26, 27)

  • God can help you to forget all your TOIL on any SOIL. “And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, [said he], hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.” (Gen 41:51)

  • BECAUSE you are FAITHFUL God can CAUSE you to be FRUITFUL and USE you in the LAND where you LANDED. “And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.” (Gen 41:52)
